2 months old!!!

Well Kassidy will be 9 weeks old tomorrow, I can't believe she is already 2 months old!!! It's so sad. She had her well check visit today which of course included shots :(. She weighs 10.4 pounds, and is 22 inches long. Her weight, head, and length are all in the 50-60%, so the doc said she is a perfect baby :). She does however have severe acid reflux so we have to put her on some Zantac. She said that should make it go away in 2 months.... I really hope so, she spits up TONS!!!! She had 2 shots and then had to take something orally. She tried to be so brave after she had her shots and just laid there with a frowny face and tears in her eyes, then she started screaming. I had forgotten how sad it is to get their shots done. Here is a pic of her while we were getting ready to leave the doctor's office.

Pumpkin party

Kassidy on her first camping trip
First camping trip

On October 9th my grandpa had his annual pumpkin party. He has lots of pumpkins that he grows every year that we get to pick out and we eat yummy food and just hang out with family. This year was different because of getting all muddy and pulling the pumpkins off the stems ourselves, my grandpa spent the following few days doing it. Dave was hunting so he didn't get to go, but Kruz, Kassidy and I chose out lots of good pumpkins to carve. We did a little photo shoot, but they didn't turn out as good as I wanted because Kassidy would not cooperate.

Then the following weekend Dave went back up hunting, but since it was supposed to be pretty decent weather Kassidy and I decided we would go up there with him. It is so much harder to pack for a baby... especially when you have never taken a baby camping before!!!! I brought SOOOOOO much stuff. I was a little anal about her staying warm so I turned our heater in the trailer up to 75 and then had a space heater on by her too.... I did not want her to get sick LOL. She did so good up there. She was calm and just loved being up in the mountains. Even though we stayed in the trailer most the weekend she still loved it!!! Luckily we didn't have to worry about the dogs because my awesome sis-in-law watched them for us... and of course the day we came home Roxsie had an allergic reaction at her house and her eye started swelling, it's always something with that dog LOL.

Introducing.......

So I have been REALLY busy and have not yet posted a blog about my baby girl. Kassidy Lin Johnson was born on August 28, 2010 at 9:01 PM. We woke up that morning at 6:30 AM, because we were supposed to be at the hospital at 7:00 AM to start the induction. They called us 15 mins before we left and said they didn't have room and they would call us before 9 to let us know when to come in, 4 hours later and they called and told us to come in at noon. When we got there they imediatley got us in a room and started the pitocin and 20 mins later my doctor came in and broke my water. Everything was going great until I started feeling my contractions and the nurse said that the anesthesia guy was not in the hospital and would take a half hour to get there, so I told her to call him and tell him to start heading our way.

He got there and gave me the epidural, which made the pain go away... but it started LOTS of other problems with me and Kassidy. A few minutes after I got the epidural Kassidy's heartrate kept dropping into the teens so they would have to keep coming in and turning me from side to side. Then out of no where I started feeling really really tired and dizzy, and almost passed out, the reasoning for that you ask???? My heartrate dropped to 62/34 and they had to rush in and give me a shot of epinephran. It slowly increased after that but would only get as high as 90/64, and they could not stabalize Kassidy's heartrate, so my doc came in and told me that the safest thing to do was to have an emergency c-section. I knew deep down since I was 3 months along that I would have to have a c-section, but it was still hard to hear. The doctor went over ALL the risks which I knew, but it still made me even more scared. I got really upset and started bawling, which made Dave get upset. He was trying to hide it from me, but he was scared and nervous. He kept his cool and kept reassuring me that everything would be fine and we would be able to see our baby girl in a few minutes.

They wheeled me into the OR and made Dave get on the doctor scrubs and mask and got me all prepped. It was a very weird sensation that is very hard to explain, but after 10 minutes of them cutting and pushing her out she made her first appearance to the world. She started crying right off the bat, but she was PERFECT!!!!! Dave went and took pics while they sewed me up and cleaned Kassidy up. Then finally I got to see my beautiful baby girl. The pain from the c-section was unbearable, but I would do it all over again. She has been a wonderful baby who is already on a schedule and sleeps throughout most the night. Dave has been a GREAT help and is a WONDERFUL daddy, and Kruz is the best big brother a sister could ask for.

pre-eclampsia

Well just wanted to update those few people who actually read this... I went in for my regular weekly visit today and my blood pressure was 147/94, which is very high!!! The doc looked at my ankles and wrists which have been extremely swollen the last 2 weeks, but they won't go down at all now and I am starting to have blurred vision and bad head aches. He said that I have pre-eclampsia and will need to be on bedrest for 2 days. I have to go back to the doctors on Friday to have my blood pressure checked again and if it is still high they are going to send me to the ER to have the baby. If not they want to induce me on Saturday regardless because of the swelling. So I will now be getting induced in 2 or 3 days depending on how my blood pressure turns out on Friday. I will keep ya all posted!!!

WORST NIGHT EVER!!!

So yesterday was shaping up to be an AWESOME day!!! Dave took me for some mexican food( I had been craving it and I heard it can possibly start labor), then after that we went to babies r' us and got our bassinet/playpen. That was the last big thing we needed for the arrival of Kassidy. We then drove up to my ex mother-in-laws house to get Kruz for my neices 13th birthday party. My sis-in-law had a BBQ and of course cake...best part of any birthday party. She made the cake though and it is SOOOO yummy, it is chocolate with peanut butter frosting and she put twix bars around the side and reeses peices on the top.... soooo good!!! At the party she gave me some castor oil since I have been wanting to try it to see if it would help me go into labor.... I am so done with this pregnancy and just wanna see my baby LOL.

Well on our way home Dave and I discussed that it would just be easier for me to do a shot of the stuff and chase it with cherry coke, so we stopped at the gas station and got home at about 7. I poured the 2 oz. in a cup(that is what every website I looked at suggested for the amount), I had no clue that it was sooo thick!!! Of course I couldn't do a shot of it with it being that thick, so I mixed it with milk..............It was AWEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gagged it down and drank my cherry coke as fast as I could. After an hour I felt nothing so I told Dave that nothing was going to happen, even what it is usually meant for, which for those of you who don't know... it is meant to make you poop. Dave started joking around that I was going to have the worst diarrhea and he would make fun of me for thinking this would work and all I got out of it was the shits. We went and laid in bed at 9:30 and nothing was happening so I figured I was in the clear. I turned off the tv at 11 and by 11:30 my stomache was making the worst noises I have ever heard it make before :(. I am not going to go into details, but I was in the bathroom ALL NIGHT LONG!!!! So embarrassing because Dave woke up to me crying on our bed and I told him what was wrong... for those of you who know me, I have never even farted in front of him before, so telling him what was going on killed me!!!! We started to get worried since Kassidy wasn't moving at all and I couldn't keep water down, at 2:30 Dave said we were going to the ER if i couldn't hold water down and if my fever didn't break... so luckily it did and I was able to stay out of the bathroom and get 2 hours of sleep. So moral to the story is DO NOT TAKE CASTOR OIL EVER!!!!! It was the WORST night I have ever had!!!! So no more trying any old wives tales for me... I am just going to wait the 7 and 1/2 days that I have left.

I have a doc appt. on Wednesday, so hopefully I have dilated more... I will keep ya all posted :) wish me luck!!!

12 days!!!

Well, I have 12 days until little Kassidy comes(unless she decides to come early, which I doubt). At my last doc visit on Tuesday I was still only 1.5 centimeters dilated, but I am now 70% effaced :). I am excited for this Saturday, I have another shower that my mother-in-law and sis-in-law are throwing for me. Hopefully after that I will have most the stuff I need....but if not it gives me a good excuse to go shopping LOL!!! I just can't believe how fast this 9 months has gone by, but these last 12 days are starting to go by slow. I have been walking around and dancing a lot to see if it helps me dilate more, cross your fingers :). Well that is all I can think to type right now. Hope everyone is doing well!!

HAVIN A BABY!!!

Well as of right now I am 36 weeks and 1 day, but guess what????? I will be having a baby in 20 days, yeah you read that right!!! We went and did an ultrasound yeseterday to see how big our baby Kassidy was and her head is HUGE... it is measuring at 40 weeks :(, but on the up side she is only about 6 pounds 9 ounces. So she will be a bobble head just like her daddy was when he was a baby LOL. They checked me and I was dialated to 1.5 centimeters and 40% effaced, and then they called over to Jordan Valley Hospital and scheduled my induction date.... August 31st. OMG I can't believe she is almost here!!!! We are so ready emotionally and physcially, but we don't have her crib set up, house clean, clothes washed... I feel like I have sooo much to do and not much time. Dave has been an awesome husband, he has been trying his hardest to do whatever he can so I don't stress. If he ever reads this I just want him to know how much I love and appreciate EVERYTHING he does for me. Well since I have been slacking, I will probably not post till after the baby... but who knows maybe I will change my ways :). wish me luck!!!
