2 months old!!!

Well Kassidy will be 9 weeks old tomorrow, I can't believe she is already 2 months old!!! It's so sad. She had her well check visit today which of course included shots :(. She weighs 10.4 pounds, and is 22 inches long. Her weight, head, and length are all in the 50-60%, so the doc said she is a perfect baby :). She does however have severe acid reflux so we have to put her on some Zantac. She said that should make it go away in 2 months.... I really hope so, she spits up TONS!!!! She had 2 shots and then had to take something orally. She tried to be so brave after she had her shots and just laid there with a frowny face and tears in her eyes, then she started screaming. I had forgotten how sad it is to get their shots done. Here is a pic of her while we were getting ready to leave the doctor's office.

Pumpkin party

Kassidy on her first camping trip
First camping trip

On October 9th my grandpa had his annual pumpkin party. He has lots of pumpkins that he grows every year that we get to pick out and we eat yummy food and just hang out with family. This year was different because of getting all muddy and pulling the pumpkins off the stems ourselves, my grandpa spent the following few days doing it. Dave was hunting so he didn't get to go, but Kruz, Kassidy and I chose out lots of good pumpkins to carve. We did a little photo shoot, but they didn't turn out as good as I wanted because Kassidy would not cooperate.

Then the following weekend Dave went back up hunting, but since it was supposed to be pretty decent weather Kassidy and I decided we would go up there with him. It is so much harder to pack for a baby... especially when you have never taken a baby camping before!!!! I brought SOOOOOO much stuff. I was a little anal about her staying warm so I turned our heater in the trailer up to 75 and then had a space heater on by her too.... I did not want her to get sick LOL. She did so good up there. She was calm and just loved being up in the mountains. Even though we stayed in the trailer most the weekend she still loved it!!! Luckily we didn't have to worry about the dogs because my awesome sis-in-law watched them for us... and of course the day we came home Roxsie had an allergic reaction at her house and her eye started swelling, it's always something with that dog LOL.

Introducing.......

So I have been REALLY busy and have not yet posted a blog about my baby girl. Kassidy Lin Johnson was born on August 28, 2010 at 9:01 PM. We woke up that morning at 6:30 AM, because we were supposed to be at the hospital at 7:00 AM to start the induction. They called us 15 mins before we left and said they didn't have room and they would call us before 9 to let us know when to come in, 4 hours later and they called and told us to come in at noon. When we got there they imediatley got us in a room and started the pitocin and 20 mins later my doctor came in and broke my water. Everything was going great until I started feeling my contractions and the nurse said that the anesthesia guy was not in the hospital and would take a half hour to get there, so I told her to call him and tell him to start heading our way.

He got there and gave me the epidural, which made the pain go away... but it started LOTS of other problems with me and Kassidy. A few minutes after I got the epidural Kassidy's heartrate kept dropping into the teens so they would have to keep coming in and turning me from side to side. Then out of no where I started feeling really really tired and dizzy, and almost passed out, the reasoning for that you ask???? My heartrate dropped to 62/34 and they had to rush in and give me a shot of epinephran. It slowly increased after that but would only get as high as 90/64, and they could not stabalize Kassidy's heartrate, so my doc came in and told me that the safest thing to do was to have an emergency c-section. I knew deep down since I was 3 months along that I would have to have a c-section, but it was still hard to hear. The doctor went over ALL the risks which I knew, but it still made me even more scared. I got really upset and started bawling, which made Dave get upset. He was trying to hide it from me, but he was scared and nervous. He kept his cool and kept reassuring me that everything would be fine and we would be able to see our baby girl in a few minutes.

They wheeled me into the OR and made Dave get on the doctor scrubs and mask and got me all prepped. It was a very weird sensation that is very hard to explain, but after 10 minutes of them cutting and pushing her out she made her first appearance to the world. She started crying right off the bat, but she was PERFECT!!!!! Dave went and took pics while they sewed me up and cleaned Kassidy up. Then finally I got to see my beautiful baby girl. The pain from the c-section was unbearable, but I would do it all over again. She has been a wonderful baby who is already on a schedule and sleeps throughout most the night. Dave has been a GREAT help and is a WONDERFUL daddy, and Kruz is the best big brother a sister could ask for.
